Greetings from Georgann

We had a great time at St. Augustine and another RV learning experience. Staying close together with your significant other in a small space can be challenging but Tim and I are a great team. Compass RV Park was a good choice. Lot 71 provided us with a view of the pond and a private campfire by the water. We met some fellow RV friends from Louisiana that were experienced and talkative. The park was very clean and it was about 10 minutes to downtown via a shuttle to the trolley. We enjoyed architecture, tours, good food, adult beverages, and even a few bike rides. Our first experiences were cooking eggs on the interior stove, a rain storm, Uber, forgetting some needed items (not beer), and managing in a rural area without a vehicle. I think we can do without a vehicle right now. The Uber was affordable and if needed, we can rent a car..But it will be a consideration when deciding on RV sites. Our next adventure will be about 2 months of traveling north to visit family and friends with ...
May 4, 2017 BIG NEWS... We found the dish washing soap in the most unlikely place.  Under the kitchen sink. We finished up our touring of St Augustine yesterday.  We went in the afternoon and toured the old county jail, a museum and a great tour at St Sebastion Winery.  The county jail tour was led by a man in a jail outfit and was in the caracter of prisoner.  He was about 6'3" had no front teeth, a weeks growth of beard and long stringy hair.  Thats what he really looked like!  During the tour, he acted a little funny that seemed not part of the tour.  Taking deep breaths, stumbling, long pauses.  Then at the end, in the cell block, he said stay here as long as you like and left us.  We walked out and GA said I think he was drunk.  Hard to tell if he was sluring words because your diction isn't the best when your 4 front teeth are missing.  But it would explain some of what we observed. The winery tour was very good with qui...
May 3, 2017 St Augustine, FL For the past two days we have been using our trolley passes to tour St Augustine.  It is a very impressive town and if you are ever down this way I suggest you take some time to visit.  We visited a distillery that use to be an ice plant, a couple churches and museum and of course a couple restaurant/bars.  We still have one more day on our pass and will tour a few more things today. We've had some conversations with some other campers.  Well, let me say that we stood there while other campers told us where they're from, where they've been and where they're going.  Alright, I'm being a little cynical I guess.  Georgann pointed out that if it's just the two of us living in a small space and only have each other to talk and look at, this experience could go sour pretty fast.  So I guess I'll have to work on my social skills....again. Maybe I should get her a dog?  Speaking of dogs, it seems half the people have dogs...
May 1, 2017 St Augustine, FL Here we are in St Augustine, FL.  We pulled in to Compass RV Park a few miles from downtown.  Our GPS calculated 4 hrs 39 min.  Actual was 5 hrs 41min and 273 miles.  We stopped once for personal relief and once for gas.  We could have made it here on one tank but We didn't want to sit here with a near empty tank.  We got a good feel for driving both on 2 lane and freeway.  We're not crazy about driving through Orlando on I-4 with construction but we did it.  Can't wait to try Atlanta or Chicago:( The RV Park has about 70 'rigs' here.  Its fun to ride our bikes around and see how everybody sets up.  No doubt we fit in well.  In other words, there are a lot of our demographic here. Today we take a shuttle downtown to a trolley that travels around all the historic sites and the downtown.  We bought 3 day passes and can ride unlimited.  Similar to the trolley in Key West.  We will try ...
